Interview

Everything is a dream until you decide to make it a reality. For one Tennessee-born country music artist, his reality is an obstacle to those dreams. Mo Sabri is not a cowboy and doesn’t drive a truck. He’s a Muslim and what drives him is making the music he loves with the hopes of finding acceptance in a genre that’s tough on outsiders. Sabri is not your typical country artist. “I’m from Johnson City, Tennessee about four hours East of here in Nashville.” Sabri said. And that suits him just fine. The music he plays is about three chords and the truth, so there is no hiding the fact he’s a Muslim trying to make it in a genre that’s been resistant to change.
